As a member of the Insights team, this position is expected to bring the consumer perspective to marketing decision making around branding strategy, positioning, communication strategy, targeting and innovation. This role will be responsible for utilizing consumer research tools that help extract insight for the Dr Pepper Snapple Group brands, and will work in partnership with Brand Marketing in the development of strategies for all consumer touch points (communication, packaging, innovation, etc.). This position will report to the Manager of Consumer Insights.
Analytics- Represent the consumer POV across critical strategic decision-making; fill the role of strategic advisor to the brand management team
Project Management- Manage consumer research projects including but not limited to focus groups, one-on-ones, internet research, and quantitative research. Work with marketing partners (internal and external) to craft communication strategies/and creative briefs guided by a deep understanding of the relationship between consumers and our brands
Category & Consumer Expert- Monitor category consumer perceptions and competitive trends to help develop competitive advantage and unique positioning in marketplace. Provide implications and business recommendations to category brand team on all new opportunities
Communication- Communicate (via writing and presenting) salient implications and recommendations from detailed research reports
Research- Independently manage research projects, leveraging organizational skills, communication skills, and strategic thinking
Four year college degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Psychology
Currently pursuing an MBA in Marketing or Market Research
Research experience on the manufacture/client side a plus.
Consumer packaged goods, beverage experience a plus
Ability to demonstrate strong analytical and project management skills
Strong computer skills with excel and power point
Ability to multi-task in a cross functional environment
Knowledgeable in the use of syndicated marketing research databases (e.g. IRI, Nielsen, and household panel, MRI, SIP) a plus
Experience in study design, management and application of the following types of marketing research: Concept tests, product tests, awareness and usage/usage and attitudes, positions, segmentation, communications/advertising, qualitative research, store scanner data analysis, consumer tracking, ethnic targeted marketing research a plus.
