AAD Engagement Applications Summary: The AAD Engagement Applications team collaborates with business departments across the University to identify, implement, and support alumni, prospect, and donor facing technology solutions that support the alumni affairs and development business initiatives. The team manages multiple applications such as SalesForce Marketing Cloud, Certain Events, the Harvard Alumni Community, Alumni Magnet, and online e-commerce systems. The team supports email and event template creations, web site development and UX design for central Alumni Affairs and Development in collaboration with AAD Creative Services. The team delivers customer focused service in the areas of business requirements/solutions development, UX and web development, project management and implementation, production systems support, education, and end user support.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and manage effective working relationships with other departments, groups and personnel with whom work must be coordinated or interfaced
Implement, support, and manage email marketing, SMS/MMS, and event registration infrastructure and related data integrations with other systems
Lead Certain Event Registration and SalesForce Marketing Cloud projects to pilot new technologies and features and develop recommendations based on learnings from the pilot
Manage medium to large technology projects, including managing multiple projects at one time
Gather and document functional requirements, and translate requirements into marketing solutions, that supports business priorities and provides a high quality user experience
Collaborate with developers on technical design and functionality based on documented functional requirements
Collaborate with developers and stakeholders on incremental reviews of projects underway in order to collect feedback, and adjust requirements and design to ensure project deliverables are on track.
Develop in-depth understanding of underlying data, data structures, and business uses of data
Identify gaps in data collection, the data model, and integrations with other applications for future infrastructure enhancements
Collaborate with Operations Email Strategy Lead and school stakeholders to develop a clear understanding of how technology supports email practice in order to provide the most effective solutions possible
Write and execute comprehensive test plans that validate the accuracy of information and functionality to ensure delivery of high quality marketing solutions.
Review/update specifications, training and user support documentation, collaborate with the Practice team, and assist training team with drafting policies and procedures. Perform work within a set release schedule. Coordinate with vendors as necessary.
Provide end-user support across all supported products
Provide functional support during project go-lives, which may include occasional evening or weekend work.
Comply with standards, best practices, and policies defined for the team

Graduate from an accredited institution with a Bachelor's degree required.
Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a software development environment
Minimum of two (2) years' experience managing technology projects
Basic knowledge of web applications and design, relational databases, Oracle and SQL, marketing technologies
A degree or coursework in information systems or information technology preferred.
Familiarity with large software products such as SalesForce Marketing Cloud and Certain Events
Ability to synthesize business issues into technical solutions.
Detail-oriented and familiar with best practices for testing and product lifecycles.
Excellent customer service skills.
Familiarity with standard Microsoft Office desktop tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project
Strong working knowledge of alumni affairs and development systems preferred.
Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume environment. Experience working in an academic environment.
Communicates effectively with technical staff and non-technical staff.
Superb organizational skills. Must be motivated to learn and flexible to change. Ability to manage multiple tasks under competing deadlines and shifting priorities.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills with experience writing functional requirements and an appreciation for structured development techniques in conjunction with software release management processes. Public speaking and presentation skills required.
Must be conscious of data security and risk management.
Able to work independently and as part of a team. Able to work effectively with internal and external constituencies in a University environment. Adept at evaluating problems accurately and displaying sound and confidential judgment.
