Job Description: COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING DIRECTOR, SOLVE, MIT Technology Review, to be responsible for developing the strategy for Solve's external public relations, building the Solve brand, and growing and engaging the Solve community. Will report directly to Solve's executive director and be an integral member of its leadership team. Responsibilities will include working with the executive director to set strategy for Solve's external relations and communications; developing and maintaining Solve's messaging calendar across traditional press, marketing, digital media, and community outreach; building messaging guidance and guidelines for Solve; building press list and relationships targeted to Solve's community and challenges; writing press releases, story pitches, op-eds, talking points, and interview guidance; developing or updating Solve branding including guidelines, logos, and core marketing; and managing communications, branding, content, marketing, and digital staff and budget.

Job Requirements: REQUIRED: a bachelor's degree (master's preferred); a minimum of six years' experience spanning communications, press, marketing, and digital; at least two years' experience managing staff and consultants and overseeing third-party providers; proven ability to lead communications content strategy for traditional press and digital, pitch and place articles in traditional media, effectively manage vendor relationships, and meet deadlines and budget goals; and highly developed organizational skills. Must be flexible and able to take initiative and anticipate needs. Experience in start-up and/or social impact environment preferred. Job #14862-Q
