As part of the Institutional Advancement team, the Assistant Director of Annual Giving drives all direct marketing efforts for the Berklee Fund and Boston Conservatory at Berklee Annual Fund. The Assistant Director will work with internal and external partners to create and manage an engaging and efficient calendar of outreach (print and digital) to alumni, parents, friends, and faculty and staff, with the ultimate goal of increasing philanthropic support for and participation to the annual funds.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (list 5-8 essential job functions)
Work with the Director to create successful direct mail, email, and social media campaigns for Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee. Help Director identify target populations, strategies and media for campaigns.
Conceptualize the design and create the copy for annual fund campaign materials including solicitation letters, postcards, emails and website content.
Coordinate all annual fund direct mail and email solicitation efforts. Work with internal employees and manage relationships with outside vendors to ensure timely delivery of engaging, high-quality pieces.
Work closely with the Assistant Director, Donor Engagement to ensure communications are appropriately tailored for alumni, parents, friends, faculty/staff, etc.
Manage and maintain a calendar of all annual fund campaigns, appeals, initiatives, and events for Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Work with Advancement Services colleagues to compile, scrutinize, and administer prospect lists for email and mail communications as needed.
In partnership with the Director, help devise and implement new donor acquisition strategies.
Serve as a liaison with other departments and divisions across campus to create appropriate philanthropy-related content for social media pages; maintain and refresh annual fund website content for Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Track campaign statistics, and develop and maintain practices for maximizing return on investment for annual fund campaigns. Develop and maintain ways to measure campaign success.
Assist with annual fund brand implementation across managed channels and initiatives.
Maintain records of all annual fund campaigns.
Provide Alumni Affairs newsletter content as needed.
Act as goodwill ambassador for the annual funds and Alumni Affairs in interactions with faculty, staff and students as needed.
Attend regular staff meetings, provide annual fund updates as needed.
Contribute actively to a positive, pleasant and professional work environment.
