This position is responsible for leading the department's comprehensive marketing programs. This position will build and foster relationships with key internal and external constituents such as media and social network organizations to support, improve and enhance future marketing strategies and further develop all DSI branding materials. This position will plan and execute special events for Data Science Initiatives including but not limited to establish event goals and objectives, develop and carry out event procedures, timelines, and tasks. The position also prepares post-event analysis to assess opportunities and make recommendations for better future outcomes.
Minimum Experience / Education:
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a major in a closely related field and two years of experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities needed in the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Graduation from four-year college or university and at least 3 years of event or hospitality management experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Experience developing, managing and implementing professional conferences and research events.
Experience in developing and implementing strategic marketing and branding campaigns.
Experience managing social media accounts on behalf of an organization or business.
Working knowledge of various social media tools such as Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and web related software such as Drupal.
Ability to communicate effectively with external and internal constituents to develop partnerships.
