This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Marketing Writer position for Professional and Continuing Education at Oregon State University (OSU).
OSU Professional and Continuing Education (PACE) delivers more than 300 professional courses and certificate programs online and onsite to students from both near and far. Serving more than 12,000 students annually, PACE focuses on empowering individual learners and organizations with flexible, innovative professional development experiences in a wide variety of subjects ranging from business, engineering, agriculture, pharmacy, fermentation science and much more. Our expert team collaborates with University faculty and industry experts to offer learning in a variety of formats, ranging from self-paced e-learning to intensive on-site boot camps and executive coaching. PACE offers a variety of credentialing options including certificates, digital badges, and continuing education units (CEUs). Professional and Continuing Education is part of the Division of Extended Campus.
Oregon State University's Division of Extended Campus connects Oregon State University, the state's only land-grant university, to the rest of the world by providing high-quality learning opportunities to students. The Extended Campus division is home to Ecampus, Summer Session, Open Oregon State, Ecampus Research Unit and Professional and Continuing Education.
As a member of the marketing team, this person will draft, refine and update content for marketing materials. This work will be supervised directly by PACE Assistant Director for Marketing and Enrollment but may be assigned work by various PACE team members.
Work will include development of various online print and marketing materials, as well as outreach to both existing and prospective PACE partners, faculty and others in the course of obtaining information needed for content development.
Three years experience in gathering information, writing/producing materials, presenting information to the public and public relations. One year of this experience must have included responsibility for press releases and interaction with the news media. A Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication or closely related field may substitute for up to two years of the general experience.
Demonstrated experience and skill in writing, editing and providing communications services in a professional environment.
Background in writing, editing and synthesizing information in a professional/marketing setting.
Demonstrated use of social media and analytics to maximize efforts on a variety of social networks.
Excellent grammar, attention to detail, and interview skills.
