The Regional Director, Marketing and Communications, under direction of the System Vice President of Marketing & Communications based in St. Louis, is responsible for planning, development, successful implementation and reporting of marketing, communications, community relations, media relations and digital strategies for the Wisconsin region of SSM Health (SSM) and its operating entities: St. Mary's Hospital - Madison, St. Mary's Hospital - Janesville, St. Clare Hospital - Baraboo, St. Mary's Care Center, St. Clare Meadows Care Center, and Dean Medical Group. This position will work in conjunction with the regional System Vice President of Strategic Development, the Regional President of Hospital Operations and the Regional President of Dean Medical Group.
Collaborates with leadership of System Marketing & Communications and various WI region entities to translate business goals into a comprehensive integrated marketing strategy that supports and enhances the collective brand image of SSM and its operating entities in the Wisconsin region.
Leads and drives Marketing and Communications initiatives in Wisconsin in alignment with system-wide goals and practices to ensure successful implementation of the organization's strategic plans, growth plans and revenue goals.
Operates within the system's strategic framework to develop advertising, promotion, digital and social media, brand recognition management and community partnership plans for the WI region.
Works with business unit leadership to develop, prioritize and implement marketing efforts that promote brand/system image, products and services across the region.
Implement and manage market research and analysis capabilities in support of planning and new product and service development.
Leads the development of market segmentation efforts and direct marketing for the region, including use of CRM software.
Partners with system leadership to develop and implement external communication strategies to support the achievement of organizational strategies and goals.
Leads the regional internal communications function and supports system-wide communications initiatives. Partners with key areas including Human Resources to communicate changes that impact the entire employee base.
Develops the online and social media presence in coordination with the system digital team for the Wisconsin Region of SSM Health.
Ensures appropriate peer/leadership review processes are in place on external collateral material and that stakeholders are aware of the selected market and necessary communication vehicles.
Provides consultation to regional and system leaders as requested to support all marketing and communications efforts.
Proactively develops, coordinates and applies crisis communication plans as appropriate to maintain positive positioning in the community.
Ensures internal processes are in place to allow the Marketing and Communications function to optimally service the organization.
Builds and maintains strong working relationships with various internal teams from all SSM Health of Wisconsin entities.
Maintains the regional budget and financial management as a segment of the overall system budget.
Tracks the success of initiatives and work from metrics to continually improve results.
Leads the regional Marketing and Communications departments, including ongoing development of staff and department planning.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in public relations, marketing, and communications or related field
8 years of related experience required
Previous leadership experience required
Proven ability to quickly grasp industry and business-wide concepts in order to assess implications to drive actions and to capitalize on opportunities
Proven track record of success working in and leading cross-functional teams where achieving effective outcomes relies on an ability to work cooperatively with others (persuade and influence) rather than on formal reporting hierarchies
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong financial acumen
Ability to work independently or as part of a dynamic team in a rapidly changing environment
Ability to effectively establish and manage priorities
Valid driver's license required and the ability to travel
Master's degree preferred
