Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Marketing and Communications Manager will be responsible for developing and managing CPA's marketing content in support of CPA's promotional and communications efforts. Duties include creating, scheduling, and tracking posted content across social media platforms; design and delivery of CPA promotional and informational html e-mails; oversight and general maintenance of the CPA.org website; CPA.org dynamic content updates; proofing and editing CPA promotional and informational print materials; and researching and pursuing other online engagement opportunities that arise in this ever-changing field. These efforts will be managed through interdepartmental collaboration, supporting the entire organization and undertaken with an eye toward attracting audiences to CPA events, ensuring that ticket sales and attendance goals are met or exceeded, and increasing CPA's regional and national visibility. This position is part of a three-person marketing department, and is also responsible for contributing to and implementing the overall CPA marketing plan.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
The successful candidate will have: Strong writing, editing, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills. Clear understanding of and experience applying marketing strategy management and communications concepts, tools, and approaches for both internal and external audiences. Demonstrated ability to create persuasive and clear communications in all forms, traditional and electronic, and with varying audiences. Demonstrated skills in managing small and large projects with multiple internal and external partners. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with a variety of individuals including university leadership, faculty, staff, students, leaders, and external stakeholders, as well as maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, professional staff, and artists. Ability to prioritize, focus and achieve results in a fast paced and complex university environment.
Preference will be given to a candidate with:
1-3 years of combined marketing, digital media and communications experience
Experience in the arts – particularly in a changing regional, national, and international higher education environment – or in philanthropy, non-profit organizations, government or public service
