Under general supervision, the Admissions Counselor provides general information regarding the University?s admissions and academics process to perspective student recruits.
Manage an assigned geographical territory for freshmen and transfer students for recruitment purposes which include conducting research and goal setting. Serve as the university?s single point of contact within that geographical area for schools, colleges, community, civic organizations and alumni as well as university officials. Counsels prospective students on all aspects of admissions and transfer process.
Develop and implement effective recruitment and marketing strategies aimed at attracting the Hispanic communities. Utilizes Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) to communicate and enter all prospective student information.
Travel to colleges, high schools and educational fairs conducting presentations and seminars. Serve on the University Recruitment Travel Team, designed to conduct recruitment seminars/workshops off-campus. Assist administrative staff updating and retrieving data from the Student Information System and/or Banner.
Plan and implement date driven special recruiting events within your assigned responsibilities and be prepared to augment out-of-state recruitment task force aimed at providing one-stop customer service to a distance prospective students.
Assist the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Student Orientation areas with developing and finalizing articulation agreements with two and four year colleges as well as student orientation sessions.
Collect, maintain and analyze retention and recruitment statistical data on high schools, student and community college profiles within your area of assignment to enhance the enrollment yield rates. Participate in Pre-College and Orientation Programs aimed at providing recruitment pipelines. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor?s degree in applicable field
No prior experience required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Knowledge of admissions functions of higher education.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses:
May require a valid driver?s license.
Travel required. Work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.
