The Marketing Project Team aligns to the new Marketing operating model and supports both Run the Business and the Key Programs & Initiatives. This new role, Marketing PMO Manager, leads the team members working on the Programs & Initiatives to deliver on business objectives that drive future growth, positioning, and transformation. This person works closely with other functions and leaders as needed such as Strategy, Prioritization and Resourcing, Organizational Development, and Marketing Director/Managers as well as with the IS PMO to ensure alignment and successful delivery. Primary Responsibilities:Leads a project team focused on the execution of Key Programs & Initiatives, manages expectations, and holds teams accountable for delivery Leads or contributes to the development of program or project scope statements, in consultation with applicable stakeholders Ensures alignment of program/project scope and objectives with the organization's strategic objectives Ensures that all impacted areas are identified, and that appropriate resources are engaged to participate in the scope definition process Obtains agreement on project scope from applicable stakeholders, and ensures that requirements sign-off is obtained Ensures that all project deliverables and success criteria are identified Identifies project duration, effort, sequence, and dependencies of tasks required to meet applicable project objectives Develops and maintains detailed project plans, including resource assignments and dependencies Works with the Prioritization and Resourcing Manager to drive the identification of the skills, duration, and effort required for successful project execution Ensures that resources are acquired to meet project requirements, escalating for assistance where gaps exist Ensures that project schedules include all tasks and activities necessary to achieve project objectives Adheres to applicable project planning processes/methodologies in order to ensure that all required project resources are aligned and available Works across functional areas to manages project schedule, quality, communications, and relationships Provides subject matter expertise in areas including project management, project scope definition, risk identification, project methodology, resource allocation, facilitation, and other areas of expertise based on professional knowledge and background Leads and influences organization through change Ensures programs/projects are completed on time and in scope Facilitates meetings in a matrixed environment and drives to resolution Continuously monitors progress for opportunities of process improvement within functional areas Establishes and executes communication plans to address stakeholder needs and measures/communicates program/project status and progress Maintains project dashboards and presents to management on Portfolio/Program updates and expected results
Required Qualifications:BA/BS degree, Business or related field and/or equivalent work experience 7+ years of project management experience 5+ years of experience in tracking, planning projects, working with large data sets, and making data-driven analytical decisions 3+ years of supervisory experience, mentoring and coaching a team of 5 or more individuals Group meeting facilitation and communication skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to be flexible and work with ambiguity Experience presenting to executive leadership Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint Preferred Qualifications:PMP Certified or actively pursuing PMP Certification Experience in the healthcare industry (Medicare)Careers at UnitedHealthcare Medicare & Retirement.
