The Northeastern University Professional Advancement Network Office of Strategic Research & Analytics' primary function is to support organizational decision-making through the dissemination of research and data insights. Reporting to the Associate Director of Marketing & Sales Analytics within the Office of Strategic Research & Analytics, the Assistant Director of Marketing & Sales Analytics will support marketing, enrollment management, and communication staff, and partner with marketing operations and IT staff to conduct data analysis to inform strategic and tactical decision-making in the marketing and sales space. In addition, the Assistant Director of Marketing & Sales Analytics will take a lead role in managing the report landscape for the marketing and enrollment management space within the Professional Advancement Network.
Key responsibilities include:
Manage the reporting landscape for marketing, recruitment, digital marketing, enrollment services, and Learner Services. This includes reports and dashboards in Salesforce, Marketo Revenue Cycle Explorer, and Tableau Server, as well as ad hoc reports.
Develop reports and dashboards for communication and display of relevant information, with a specific focus on marketing, recruitment, and sales related data.
Create queries to extract and aggregate data from the marketing automation and CRM systems for further analysis and insight.
Track, analyze, and forecast marketing and sales trends.
Track and report campaign results to measure the effectiveness of tactics and strategies; examine return on investment for marketing and recruitment efforts.
Maintain attribution model to determine return on investment of all efforts.
Report on and analyze cross-channel marketing campaign performance across tacticsweb, display, paid search, email, etc.; provide recommendations on optimization strategies based on evaluating entire scope of marketing activities.
Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to inform decision-making with regards to the management of enrollment marketing and sales resources within the Professional Advancement Network.
Prepare reports of findings, presenting data graphically and in written formats. Provide insights and recommendations based on analysis.
Partner with the marketing and enrollment management operations team to ensure initial data collection is optimized for analysis.
Provide guidance in the area of data analysis and reporting to members of the marketing, recruitment, and sales teams; colleagues in the Office of Strategic Research & Analytics; and relevant administrators across the Professional Advancement Network, as needed.
Strong technical and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as the ability to think critically and analytically, work independently and handle multiple tasks. The ability to distill and convey findings clearly is a critical component of the work. The individual in this position must understandand be attentive tothe unique needs and behaviors of an adult/professional student audience. He/she must be able to understand the interplay between these behaviors and the reports and analyses that are produced to inform decision-making.
Bachelors degree required. Requires at least 2-5 years of demonstrated proficiency in data analysis, documentation, and reporting. Advanced practical experience with BI and data analysis software (SPSS, Excel, Hyperion, Tableau, etc.) required. Experience with marketing automation and CRM systems required; experience with Marketo and Salesforce a plus. Strong technical and interpersonal skills are essential, as well as the ability to think critically and analytically, work independently and handle multiple tasks. Ability to summarize and present analytic work and findings in ways that are accessible to non-technical audiences required. Creative problem-solving, superb attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and activities required. Understanding/familiarity of higher education and enrollment management a plus. Experience in marketing, sales, or analytics preferred. Employee must understandand be attentive tothe unique needs and behaviors of an adult/professional student audience. He/she must be able to understand the interplay between these behaviors and the reports and analyses that are produced to inform decision-making.
