Northwestern College seeks a full-time social media and marketing specialist for its public relations office. Responsibilities include managing institutional social media accounts, executing new campaigns, measuring their effectiveness and exploring additional platforms. The specialist will also serve as a marketing consultant to NWC departments, evaluating current strategies, suggesting new ones and collaborating with other staff to provide content and material. The position includes writing a wide variety of marketing materials, such as content for the website, articles for the college magazine and news releases. Additional responsibilities can be tailored to the strengths of the candidate and could include graphic design, photography, web development or videography.
A bachelor’s degree—preferably in marketing, communications, PR, English, journalism or a related field—is required. Two to four years of professional experience are preferred. The successful candidate will also have:

A thorough understanding of social media and digital strategy, trends and evaluation methods
A demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective marketing plans and materials
Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities and commitment to customer service
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently in a busy office as well as collaborate as part of a team committed to implementing best practices in the promotion of Northwestern College.
